To give birth to male children so they could immediately be sent out to the military to train. They also had a lot of power over the men, they had many rights like owning property, and they would also be able to get education just like the spartan boys. But the girls would stay at home with their mothers while they were learning. Unlike Athens, the women were fed the exact amount of food as the men. That's basically a jist of what the women did.
