[tex]y = mx + c[/tex]
Where c is the y intercept and m is the slope.

We can then put (5,-4) and the slope into the equation:

-4 = (3/4)(5)+c
-c = 15/4+4
c = -31/4

Therefore the answer is c = -31/4.
