The aim of using Figurative Language is to create an impact on the reader, be more emphatic or make the audience think about a topic in a particular way. It requires an effort by the audience to understand some subtle nuances from the speech of the author. Figurative Language uses words that go beyond conventionally definitions and it can take the form of a metaphor or simile between others. It can provide additional information about the context, the characters of the story, their feelings, and so on.
