where r is a radius

[tex] r \: = \frac{1}{2} diameter[/tex]

so you calculate volume V as:

[tex]v \: = \pi( {r}^{2} ) \times length \: = \pi \times \frac{1}{4} \times {diameter}^{2} \times length[/tex]

[tex]v = 3.14 \times \frac{1}{4} \times 4 \times 4 \times 24 = 301.44[/tex]
