URGENT! how can you use subtraction to describe division?

Answer:

Just like multiplication is adding the same number multiple times, dividing can be described as subtracting the same number multiple times.  

Ex:

4 x 3 = 12

4 + 4 + 4 = 12

8/2 = 4

8 -2 -2 = 4
