The difference betweek xylem and phloem is that (1) xylem is unidirectional it only moves up to the plants stem while phloem is bidirectional it goes uop and down to the stem and leaves. (2) Xylem only transport water and mineral to aerial part of the plants while phloem transports food and nutrients.
