This is the form of a linear equation.

y=mx+b

If we try to find w through this we get... two variables.

w=-1(6)+b

So, to find out w we need b first.

What does b represent? It is the y-intercept of the line. We can find that using point (-2,6) the slope of -1.

6=-1(-2)+b

b=4

Now back to the first step.

w=-1(6)+b

w=-1(6)+4

w=-2

answer: -2
