Sara and Katie are baking pies for a holiday party. Sara is making twice as many pies as Katie. Together, they are making 12 pies. How many pies did each girl make?

Answer: Katie made 4 while Sara made 8

Step-by-step explanation: It takes thinking but while reading and seeing that Sara makes twice as much, I thought of 3 but that didn't work, then I thought of 4 and they had equaled 12. hope the explanation was good.
