To answer this question we're going to need to use the distance formula, which is

d = √((x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2)

We are given two points:

(x1, y1) = (-2, 1)

(x2, y2) = (-5, 3)

d = √((-5 - (-2))2 + (3 - 1)2)

= √((-3)2 + (2)2)

= √(9 + 4)

= √(13)

≈ 3.6056

Since it says to round to the nearest tenth, the distance between the 2 points is

3.6 units

d=3.6
