The direct object in the sentence is house, because it is the only noun.

the "house" is the correct answer and the direct object! because it's a noun phrase denoting a person or a thing. In this situation, the thing is the house (LOOOL I KNOW RIGHT ITS SOUNDS SO WEIRD XDDDDD 'the thing...' ) xD
