we know that

so

by proportion

Find the cost of  [tex]3[/tex] pounds of strawberries

[tex]\frac{4.50}{2} \frac{\$}{pounds} =\frac{x}{3} \frac{\$}{pounds}\\ \\x=(4.50*3)/2\\ \\x=\$6.75[/tex]

therefore

the answer is

[tex]\$6.75[/tex]
