The purpose of court ceremonies such as the levée is that to raise. Coming from the French word levée and the French verb lever meaning "to raise,". Traditionally levée is for monacrh and leader to have their daily moment of intimacy, but sooner it became a court ceremony to refer to the reception of a high ranking official.
