A stone is an English measure of weight. There are 14 lb in 1 stone and 2.2 lb in 1 kg.
A certain person weighs 9 stone.
 If you wanted to convert the person’s weight to kilograms, what conversion factor should you use?

we should use lb to convert weight to kg

let unknown lb be = X
14 lb = 1 stone
X lb = 9 stone
Cross multiply : X × 1 = 9 × 14
X = 126 / 1 = 126 lb

9 stone = 126 lb
let unknown value of kg be = Y
2.2 lb = 1kg
126 lb = Y kg
Cross multiply : 2.2 × Y = 126 × 1
Y = 126 / 2.2 = 57.3 kg

So 9 stone = 126 lb = 57.3 kg
