10% of 30 = 30/10 = 3

70% of 30 = 3*7 = 21

OR

Multiply 30 by 0.7 = 21

70 % means [tex] \frac{70}{100} [/tex].

"of" means a multiplication.

The class is composed of 30 children.

Therefore :

[tex] \frac{70}{100}*30 [/tex]
[tex]= 0.7*30[/tex]
[tex]=21[/tex]

So, 21 children got level 4.

Hope this helps !
