Commutative property is one of the basic properties of numbers. The word "commute" means "exchange" or "swap over".

It is the property that explains that no matter where you place 2 or more numbers in an addition equation, the results are the same
Eg: 1+5+4+1 = 11
       5+4+1+1 = 11
       1+4+1+5 = 11
