Betzig found that, among the first six civilizations "high-status" men disproportionately had "greater
sexual access to women".
These six early civilization contain Mesopotamia, ancient
Egypt, the Harappan civilization of the
Indus Valley and ancient China which are all part
of the Old World while the other two Mesoamerica and South America are of the New
World.
