The method that requires researchers to go into a setting that they want to learn more about is the field studies or research. Field studies involve collecting data outside of an experimental or lab setting, it is the collection of information outside a laboratory, library or workplace setting. Field research has historically always included an element of exploration, but increasingly is focused on the acquisition of unavailable data from otherwise know areas, mostly to address specific problems and hypotheses.
