2x^2 + 4x - 7 The given polynomial has 3 terms. They are 4x, 2x^2, and -7 The 4x term is of degree 1 with respect to x. The 2x^2 is of degree 2 with respect to x. and finally, the -7 term is of degree 0 with respect to x. So sort the terms in descending order by degree and you get 2x^2 + 4x - 7 Also, don't worry that changing the order of the terms might change the value of the polynomial, that won't happen due to the commutative property of addition.
