The british parliament's response to colonial violence should not be viewed as "coercive" or "intolerable. The British parliatment responded to the act of Bostan Tea party where patriots dress as native americans and dumped shipments of tea into the Boston harbor. The parliament responded with quartering and implemented more regulations on port and justice administration. These steps by the parliament were necessary to protect the safety and the interests in the colony.
