The two European countries that were the biggest winner in the race to seize African colonies were BRITAIN AND FRANCE.
In the early 18th century, seven different European countries held African colonies, of these seven, Britain and France were the biggest holders. The major reason reason behind the colonization is the empowerment and the advancement of the colonizing countries. It was only two African countries, Ethiopia and Liberia that remain uncolonized during this period.
