How do the scrotal muscles help maintain temperature homeostasis of the testes?

The scrotal muscles tend to be stiff and relax to control the testes distance from one's body.To maintain the temperature homeostasis when it is cold, the muscles will contract bringing the testes closer to the body.Meanwhile, when it is warm the muscles relax thus moving the testes away from the body.
