[tex]-3 = \dfrac{y + 7}{x - 5} [/tex]

[tex] y + 7= -3(x - 5)[/tex]

Use the point-slope formula for a line:

y-(-7) = -3(x-5) (answer)

Review:  the eq'n of a str line with slope m and one given point (h,k) is
